This Policy explains how information is obtained, used, and stored by this App.
1. Information Handled by This App
This App may handle the following information.

- The text of your words (memo entries)
- The text of your Notes
- Creation date and time, update date and time
- Data associated with your words or Notes
- Files you select for backup and restore (the contents of these files are not sent to us)
Information Related to App Settings
- Notification on/off setting
- Notification time setting
- Onboarding completion status
- Other in-app settings
This information is used primarily to maintain the user experience and provide the App's features.
2. Purposes of Use of Information
This App handles the following information for the purposes below, depending on the type of information.

- Saving and displaying your words and Notes
- Providing the notification feature
- Providing the backup and restore features
- Maintaining in-app settings
- Other provision of the App's features and maintenance of the user experience
Usage information, crash information, device information, etc. obtained through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics
- Improving the quality of the App
- Understanding usage conditions
- Analyzing and fixing issues
- Maintaining stable service operation
This App does not use the content of the words or Notes you input for advertising, usage analysis, quality improvement, or issue analysis purposes.
For Firebase Analytics, in the EU/EEA and certain other regions, collection does not begin until you have given explicit permission. See "4. Regarding External Services" below for details.
3. Regarding Data Storage
This App stores the words (memos), Notes, and settings information you input primarily on your own device.
At present, this App does not send or store the text of your words or Notes on a server managed by us.
When you use the backup feature, your words and Notes are exported as a JSON-format file and saved to the destination or sharing location you select.
When you use the restore feature, this App reads the backup file you select on your device. Any temporary copy created for this processing is deleted after it has been read.
This App does not send or store the backup file or its contents on a server managed by us.
If you select iCloud Drive or another external service as your save or sharing destination, the terms of service and privacy policy of that service provider will apply to how that service handles your information.
4. Regarding External Services
This App uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for quality improvement and usage analysis.
Regarding Firebase Analytics
In the EU/EEA, and in other regions we treat as "consent regions" for implementation purposes, Firebase Analytics collection is kept OFF until you give explicit permission. Granting and declining permission are presented with the same level of ease, and declining does not restrict any feature of this App. You can change your permission setting at any time afterward from Settings within the App. If you withdraw your consent, Analytics collection stops from that point onward.
In regions that are not treated as consent regions, Analytics may be enabled by default unless an explicit prior refusal has been recorded. To determine whether a consent region applies, this App uses the device's region setting — not the App's language setting — as a signal for implementation purposes. This signal does not conclusively establish your legal place of residence.
Information that may be collected:
- Approximate (coarse, country/region-level) geographic information derived by Google
- Device and app instance identifiers
- Product interaction within the App
- Screen and feature usage
- Other usage data
- OS information, device type, and App version
- App usage metrics aggregated within a fixed, predefined range
The Firebase (GA4) property's user-level and event-level data retention period is set to 14 months, and this period is configured to reset whenever new activity is recorded for a given user. Google's standard aggregate processing may be subject to separate retention rules, so this does not mean that all Analytics data related to this App is guaranteed to be deleted after 14 months.
Regarding Firebase Crashlytics
Firebase Crashlytics is used, independently of your Analytics permission setting, to obtain crash and reliability diagnostic information. This App does not set a custom user identifier for Crashlytics. Custom keys and logs sent to Crashlytics are limited to predetermined operational information, and we do not intentionally send the text of your words, Notes, or other free-form text. However, crash occurrences, diagnostic information, and device/app information may be processed.
According to Firebase's official documentation, crash stack traces and associated identifiers are retained for 90 days before removal begins. This App currently keeps the Crash Insights feature intentionally enabled; through this feature, crash information may be compared against crash data from other apps using Firebase for the purpose of anonymized, aggregated crash-trend analysis.
This App does not send personally identifiable information, such as your name or email address, to Firebase.
This App does not send the text of your words, the text of your Notes, the contents of backup files, file names, URIs, or save destination paths to Firebase Analytics or Firebase Crashlytics. In addition, this App does not set your App user ID as the user_id for Firebase Analytics or as a custom user identifier for Firebase Crashlytics.

Website analytics
The echor website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views and traffic trends. According to Cloudflare's official documentation, Cloudflare Web Analytics does not collect or use visitors' personal data and does not use client-side state such as cookies or localStorage to measure usage.

5. Regarding Notifications
This App uses local notifications.
Notifications may display part or all of the text of your words (memo entries) that you have saved.
These notifications may be displayed on your device's lock screen or in the notification center.
You can disable notifications yourself from your device settings or the in-app settings.
6. Regarding AI and Machine Learning
This App does not currently use the content of the words or Notes you input for AI training or machine learning.
In addition, at present, this App does not send the content of your words or Notes to an external AI service.
If AI-related features are added in the future, we will revise this Policy and provide the necessary notice.
7. Regarding Provision to Third Parties
This App does not provide the content of the words or Notes you input to third parties, except where required by law.
8. Security
This App strives to implement appropriate safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, information leakage, tampering, and the like.
9. Deletion of Data
You can delete the words and Notes stored in this App yourself.
Ordinarily, when you delete the App from your device, the data stored on the device is also deleted.
However, backup files that have been exported from this App and saved to the Files app, iCloud Drive, or another save destination are not automatically deleted when you delete the App. Please delete any backup files you no longer need from their save destination yourself.
10. For Users in the EEA / France and Other Regions
If you are located in the EEA (European Economic Area), France, or another such region, please note the following.
- You can withdraw your Analytics consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
- Under applicable data protection law, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability regarding your information.
- If you reside in France, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés).
- Inquiries regarding this Policy and the handling of your information continue to be accepted through "Feedback" within the App or the contact email address provided at the end of this Policy.
- Service providers such as Google/Firebase may process information outside Japan, including outside the EEA. In such cases, the processing is subject to applicable contractual and legal safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses).
Our handling of Analytics in the EEA is based on your consent as the legal basis. Our handling of crash and reliability information may be based on our legitimate interests in maintaining the stable operation and security of this App; however, this does not mean that other legal requirements, such as consent, are uniformly unnecessary as a result.
11. Information Obtained through Inquiries, Registration for Updates, etc.
We may obtain your email address, the content you submit, and other information you send us through inquiries, registration for various forms of information, surveys, and the like.
Information obtained is used for the following purposes:
- Responding to inquiries
- Sending various forms of information
- Providing and improving the service
- Assessing demand
We do not use information obtained for any purpose other than those listed above.
12. Changes to this Policy
This Policy may be changed as necessary.
Any changes will take effect from the time the revised content is posted on this page.
